What’s Up…

Just a few words about what’s going on in our Bargaining Unit….

-Reminder that we have a new office location, not far from our London TVCC location at 21-699 Wilkins Avenue (intersection of Wellington Rd. & Wilkins).

- Carrie Connell attended Paving the Way 2: Facilitating Work Re-integration workshop on November 2, 2011 in London. This was a very informative workshop focusing on WSIB, Accomodation, Return-to-Work Programs and the obligations of the employer, union and member. At this workshop, the Occupational Disability Response Team trainer extended an invitation to unions/employers to take advantage of their Disability Prevention Work Reintegration Services (evaluating current practices &/or developing future strategies to ensure best practices at a worldwide level). TVCC is currently in discussions to book an assessment with joint union/managment participation. Win win situation for everyone!

-November 30th, Tatiana May will be attending Union Leadership training at the COPE 468 Union Office.

-The final report on the Organizational Review of Administrative Services at TVCC from Pesce & Associates Human Resources Consultants was submitted to the employer August 19, 2011. Results have been shared with staff and a committeemade up of BU workers and management, including the Chief Steward & HR, has been formed and will be meeting to review recommendations which will impact BU positions.

-COPE 468 supports our members and their families in celebrating the joy of Christmas via a $200 donation towards the Annual TVCC Staff Kid’s Christmas Party. Looks like a big group this year. Looking forward to posting some pictures soon.
