OFL – Ontario Federation of Labour

The Ontario Federation of Labour (OFL) Convention was held November 21st to 25th in Toronto, Ontario. Our local sent 3 delegates. There were 1300 delegates in attendance to vote on the new leadership. We supported the Unity Team who won their leadership bid by a landslide. We passed many resolutions. There were amazing speakers during the conference such as Andrea Howarth (Interim Leader of the Provincial NDP Party), Stephen Lewis and Olivia Chow, NDP MPP who represented the late Jack Layton and received an award to do with Childcare. There was a moving tribute to Jack Layton. We participated in a rally to support the Occupy
Toronto Group who while we were there, had the tents dismantled without incident.

It was a very busy but enjoyable week.
